Apollo Mission Image Map Quick-Start Guide

This web map lets you find Apollo metric and panoramic camera images of the Moon just by pointing and clicking.

pan To pan left, right, up or down in the image, choose this icon. The image will recenter on your mouse click, at the current maginification level.

zoomIn To zoom-in, choose this icon, and click on any part of the Moon map. Each zoom-in click on the map magnifies the view about 2 times. The green- or red-tinted stripes on the map are camera image footprints. Panoramic camera images have green footprints, while metric camera images are red.

selectOn To select images, choose this icon, and click on an image footprint. If one or more images cover the point you clicked, you'll see a thumbnail of the image below the map and its reference number in the Image List at left. Click either a thumbnail or the reference number, and a window will pop open giving image details.
